Blue Jackets sign Huselius

Canadian Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Kristian Huselius to a $19-million, four-year contract.

The 29-year-old winger will earn an average of $4.75 million a season.

"Kristian is a highly skilled player with good vision and hockey sense who has performed at a very high level throughout his career," said GM Scott Howson. "We are very pleased to have a player and a person of his calibre join the Blue Jackets organization."

Huselius had 66 points (25-41) in 81 games with the Calgary Flames last season. He had a career-high 77 points (34-43) in 81 games with Calgary the previous season.

Huselius is the second big signing in two days for the Blue Jackets. The team signed defenceman Mike Commodore to a $18.75-million, five-year deal on Tuesday.
