Former Toronto Life editor to take Walrus reins

TORONTO — John Macfarlane ostensibly retired from the Canadian magazine industry in January, but Wednesday The Walrus announced that it had hired the former Toronto Life editor-in-chief as its part-time editor and co-publisher. Macfarlane, 66, joins The Walrus next week at its offices in Toronto and is expected to stay in his new job for as long as six months.
