FRIDAY Jaws (1975) AMC, 8 p.m. Give the man his due: Steven Spielberg's shark saga changed the face of movie entertainment. The first studio film to break $100-million (U.S.) at the box office, Jaws created the tradition of the big summer movie. Based on the bestseller by Peter Benchley, the story began with a horrific moonlight shark attack on a female swimmer, and then Spielberg slowly turned up the tension for the next two hours.
