Motorists running on empty as gas prices soar

MONTREAL — Tow-truck operators in major urban centres say they've seen an increase in the number of motorists running out of fuel as they gamble with their gas tanks. As oil prices continue to climb, many drivers are putting less in their tanks with the hope that prices have dropped by the time they make their next visit to a gas bar.
