Engine failure forces aging B.C. rescue plane to land

OTTAWA — One of the aging Buffalo search-and-rescue planes that patrols the West Coast was forced to make an emergency landing in Northern Ontario on Sunday after an engine failed while it was flying home from appearances at Central Canadian air shows. Critics say the incident raises major concerns about the fitness of the 41-year-old aircraft that are responsible for rescue missions along B.C.
