Jack Ryan from SaskatoonVictoria, Canada writes: Union certification has always been about intimidation. CAW members actually believing democracy would play a role in electing their leader should have their head examined.
For Buzz and cronies, it's never been how you play the game, it's always about winning or losing.- Posted 09/07/08 at 12:57 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Robert Loblaw from Canada writes: Its nice to see that in changing times the CAW will not be changing with the times.
Mr. Lewenza began his career changing mufflers - a fiery socialist who, given his education and skill set, is likely to end his career changing mufflers.

A READER from TORONTO, Canada writes: "In that deal, the CAW pledged its workers would not go on strike against Magna in plants where the company gave the union freedom to organize the workers."
----
Magna employees should wonder why even bother to unionize if you can't even play your most powerful card? What are workers organizing for?
It sounds like more of a deal to just collect union dues.- Posted 09/07/08 at 7:54 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

aging oldtool from Canada writes: I do wonder if any of the above posters know anything about union politics other than what their daddy or some other bitter anti-union type fed them at an early age.
I'd love to see some serious discussion on this transition in the CAW, but apparently the readers so far have shown a tendancy to react and spew tired cliches rather than even try to understand the politics.
And when Steven Harper announces that certain of his Cabinet ministers will run once again, but in new, safe ridings, how many of you posters will be asking where democracy has gone?- Posted 09/07/08 at 1:47 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
