B.C. missionary couple attacked in Kenya
Toronto — Beaten and bruised, her hands tied behind her back, Eloise Bergen lay pinned under furniture that the gang of attackers had piled over her body to stall her escape.
Her husband, John Bergen, was unconscious in the bushes outside, his bloodied body cast aside by a group of machete- and club-wielding thieves breaking into the home in Kitale, Kenya, where the pair were living.
