Blair: Hamilton leaves his mark

That's that: Josh Hamilton needed just six homers to beat Justin Morneau. One homer ... three outs? The crowd is cheering now. Four outs. They're chanting Hamilton! Hamilton! Hamilton! There goes the second one to right centre ... he has five outs and needs three to tie and four to win. My goodness ... that's his third homer into the black behind the centre field wall. Sixth out is a nubber ... that's a foul.

Seven. They're rioting in the streets of New Westminster ...

Now Hamilton's teammate, Milton Bradley, gives his neck and shoulder a rub ... and he pops up! That's eight out and Hamilton looks bagged. Weak fly to right. One out to go and Hamilton needs two to tie Morneau's total of five. Hamilton ropes a ball into right - a single otherwise, but here it's a 10th out.

Oh Canada. We have a home run champion!

Hamilton actually hit 35 to Morneau's 22 total.

"When you get tired you try to do a little too much," said Hamilton. He thanks his lord and savior ... and the fans.
