Students chart zigzag routes, study finds

New research into the way young Canadians approach higher education shows that today's students are a mobile bunch, just about as likely to take a zigzag course through college and university as they are to follow a straight line. The findings, part of a groundbreaking study that uses numbers gathered over several years by Statistics Canada, paints a picture of a group that often moves between programs and schools or takes a breather from the books for a year or more.
