American war resister sent home

VANCOUVER — The dreadlocks will be one of the first things to go. Deserter Robin Long was quietly returned to the United States Tuesday morning, the first resister Canada has sent back to the U.S. since the war in Iraq began. Mr. Long, 25, was transferred to U.S. authorities, who were expected to take him to the army base he fled in 2005 in Fort Knox, Ky. However, Canadian authorities failed to co-ordinate the deportation with U.S.
