Omar Khadr 2008 timeline
Important developments in the Omar Khadr case this year.
Feb. 4: Secret documents mistakenly released to reporters at Guantanamo Bay show that, according to one of the U.S. soldiers present during the 2002 Afghan firefight where Mr. Khadr was captured, another fighter was alive when a grenade that killed a U.S. soldier was thrown. It had long been assumed that Mr. Khadr was the only person alive inside the compound, and so must have thrown the grenade.
