Melville had a wonderful, almost biblical, prose style, and his almost obsessive interest in whaling matched Ahab's fanatical pursuit of the whale. robert harris from Canada writes: The one part of Moby Dick that stays with me is the memorial service for sailors lost at sea in that there is almost never a body to say goodbye to. It is a very moving chapter that is as relevant today as the day it was written. To landlubbers like myself I just hadn`t given it much thought until I read about it in Melville.
