  1. R Miller from Halifax, Canada writes: Congratulations to Jonathan Toews...

Further evidence of the youth movement sweeping most teams in the NHL...

Wonder if Krusty the Coach will have the same fit over this selection in the same manner that he did over Sid's Captaincy of the Pens.

    Cheers
  2. D W from Switzerland writes: where does rookie of the year Patrick Kane fit in here ?
  3. Sean O'Reilly from Kitchener, Canada writes: Not sure how it makes any sense to have a boy lead men.
  4. EJ Ravensbud from Canada writes: Millertime, at least this guy, a good Manitoba boy, is not a flopper!
  5. Mark H from Columbus, IN, United States writes: I really like Toews as a player, and the Hawks in general, but I'm never a fan of making somebody this young wear the C. Too much pressure. But I suppose it didn't hurt Crosby of Lecavielier....but to me the jury's still out if Toews will ever develop to that level or not.
  6. bilbo baggins from Canada writes: Good for him. Heck of a player!
  7. Proud Canadian from Canada, Canada writes: Young captain is nothing to sneeze at. He must have leadership skills if they asked him and put him in the position. Seems one ironic thought tho, guys like Crosby and Teows are captains in the NHL, the Leafs seem to think all their youngies play for the Marlies. EG Pogge. Something makes me think that one of the scenarios is wrong. Im not sure which one is.
  8. Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Bookend
For Shame you broke your own "Truce" with Fancy Don.
Wat'cha looking for Free Tickets from Sid the Kid to a Pens game?
  9. R Miller from Halifax, Canada writes: Proud Canadian:

Don't mention that P- word with respect to the team whose name that I am no longer allowed to mention... Loucks will go insane.

    Just repeat mindlessly:

    CU-JO, CU-JO, CU-JO

Oppsss.... Hap.... You're right.... I'll try harder for the summer except that new HNIT theme song thread got me going again, I couldn't resist !

Almost 50,000 votes now for that song... How will Aube let that beauty go for a mere $100,000...

Pure genius at the CBC... Whoever thought of associating sheep, a baby crying and a machine gun with the new hockey theme... That's why these CBC Sports guys are in the Centre of the Universe and ejeets like you and I are on the bookends.

    Cheers

Anyways, Not being very smart (me) I still say, if you play in the CHL, are a star in the CHL, you only have 1 place to work at after that stint. Its called the NHL. I realize some guys need "seasoning", but like a good steak, how much seasoning does a guy need. If the marination is not good after 2 years, then is it time to throw out the steak????? Scott??? Response please...
  11. R Miller from Halifax, Canada writes: Proud Canadian from Canada:

I doubt Loucks will repond, but your question is still a valid one...

    And Ravensbud from whereever...

A few observations from what I know of you....

You strictly follow the teachings of a Clown.
    You don't like the Habs.
You are a fan of the CFL but not the "new" NHL.
You don't want to the undefeated Riders to repeat this season.
You don't want the Coyotes to play an exhibition game in Winnipeg this fall...

I am going out on a limb here, but I am guessing that you may also live in the home of the 0-4 Blue Bombers...

Note to self, you are also a fan of Winnipeg born, Jonathan Toews....

    Interesting.

    Cheers
  12. Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: Bottom line is PC he isn't' ready. They played Clemmonson during the Calder cup playoffs.

More seasoning required.... as I have explained to the insufferable ad nauseum.

    Cheers
  13. R Miller from Halifax, Canada writes: Loucks:

Thanks for answering PC's most excellent question !

Almost 50,000 views of Logan Aube's proposed HNIC theme already... Over 800 comments already on the theme...

I hope that the CBC aren't going to go against the will of the people on this one...

    Cheers
  14. Proud Canadian from Canada, Canada writes: Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: """"More seasoning required...."""" Good afternoon Scotty, well my only comment is that the steak is past its due date. Mark my words, I do not think he (POGGE) will ever wear the blue and white in Toronto. He may surface somewhere else, but will never wear the blue and white in Toronto. Cant figure it out, why this is the way it is. I realize you need experience, in all walks of life you need experience. But after a period of time, u've either got it or not. Obviously, he doesnt have it. Like truck driving, u've either got it or you do not. U either make the corner or tear down the fence. right.
  15. EJ Ravensbud from Canada writes: Millertime, you got some of it right. Originally from the 'Peg, long ago, almost 40 years. Was a Habs fan until 70 when they gooned it up. Lost interest in NHL hockey until last year when the dear wife got excited about the Sens. Still wont watch most of it, especially teams with floppers. Don's my buddy beacause he tells the truth (most of the time) and calls out floppers. Floppers should be called out at a young age to set them on the right path. Am hoping the Russian league drives up prices so at least 12 US teams fold and we can get back to "old time hockey". At least half of the NHL players are at best AHL material. Your "Q" league where your Halifax team plays invented flopping and are perennial runnersup to the OHL and WHL. The WHL players are mostly trappers who are called grinders just to be kind. The OHL has the most talent but get beat by the grinders. Trapping hockey stinks and its a disgrace that Lemaire who had skill coaches that style of hockey in Minni.
The CFL is my league, and I love it when the Bombers beat Gainer's boys just to rub it to my Sask. buddies. This will happen in September.
In additional to the above liberals, socialists and communists are way down on the food chain.
    Anything else?
