lyle craver from Vancouver, BC, writes: The trouble with Facebook is you can't catagorize your 'friends'. There are certain games which put a premium on massing a large network of 'friends'.
I've been in one of them for about two months and had been gathering several new Facebook friends due to having recently had a high school reunion (I won't embarass myself by giving the number but over 20) - these were real friends I hadn't seen in years.
Then I joined this particular game and in order to get ahead have taken my 'friends' to 500 - these are allies and partners in the game. Thus when I look at my friends list 90% of them are other gamers who I have no idea who most of them are.
If I could put them all in a folder with the game name like I do with my e-mail ("Current customers", "New Customer Inquiries", "Suppliers" etc.) it would tremendously help one's personal organization. Love the game but hate what it's doing to my account. I've heard quite a few people maintain separate Facebook accounts just to play the games which is self-defeating - I know one guy who has registered an account in the name of his dog for this purpose!
One thing it HAS done has been to create a family discussion on identity theft though my teenagers insist they know more on the subject than I do!- Posted 24/07/08 at 12:58 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

M S from Mexico City, Mexico writes: A couple of people have mentioned not being able to delete their facebook account: If you click on Account (upper right of the facebook screen), under Settings there is an option to deactivate your account. You can also delete photos, personal information and friends at will.

Try to delete yourself....try to get out...
Once you sign up you can never delete your profile.
Facebook owns everything you upload to them. I wonder how many people want out....I bet facebook would be dropped by tons of people.....if you had the option. There should be a lawsuit to make it clear when signing up you will not be able to delete your profile period. I do not remember reading that otherwise I would not have signed up. There should be a lawsuit to force FB to put a delete option.......but good luck...
STAY AWAY FROM FACEBOOK, they will own your profile, not you.
I am a FB SUCKER and I want out of this crap site- Posted 24/07/08 at 1:42 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Dave Miller from Montreal, Canada writes: Why do people hate Facebook? I can understand choosing not to use it, but really, what's to hate? It is what you want it to be. I think the people who hate it, don't understand it or haven't even tried it.
In reality it's no more invasive than having an e-mail address if you don't want it to be....- Posted 24/07/08 at 2:51 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
