Potash profit more than triples

Profit at Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan more than tripled over the same quarter last year, the company said Thursday as it increased its profit estimate for the rest of the year.
The fertilizer company – the largest in Canada by market capitalization – reported a second-quarter profit of $905.1-million, up from $285-million in the same quarter last year. Earnings per share were $2.82, up from 88 cents. Analysts expected profits of $2.60 a share.
