Gitmo verdict calls attention to Khadr's case

WASHINGTON — Osama bin Laden's driver, Salim Hamdan, was convicted Wednesday on terrorism charges in the first full-blown test of the Bush administration's controversial war-crimes tribunals at Guantanamo Bay. But after deliberating over three days, the six officers on the military jury acquitted the Yemeni man of the two most serious charges of conspiracy in helping plot the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
