Kok-Keong Yap from Hong Kong writes: Hainan Island is like most places in China quite crowded in the city. If you plan to visit this island, stay with the international hotel franchise. Local hotels are not well maintained. Some of the golf courses are good but the locals have a habit of being overenthusiatic and may keep the rough quite thick making the course less enjoyable by the amateur golfers (including low handicappers). You can normally get a better deal than $130 during the weekday. I paid approx $90 playing at Yalong Bay.
