High art and reality TV do the tango
We all think we can sing, but we dream we can dance. There is some special attraction both deeply primal and highly civilized about making the connection between the body and music. When we strum our air guitars or grab a hairbrush for a microphone, we are playing out a fantasy of stardom, with its lure of power and money. But when we waltz around the living room, we are being drawn in by an addictively romantic fusion of sex and art.
