  1. Ed Long from Canada writes: What the .....?

    I surrender.

The Globe is now taking stories directly from the Enquirer.
  2. Bob Smitherman from Ottawa, Canada writes: Good for him.
  3. Northern Boy from Sudbury, Canada writes: Wow...a politician embroiled in a sex scandal. This is a first.
  4. Nate San Francesco from Toronto, Canada writes: Ed Long: Um, I think the Globe's story is that Mr Edwards confirmed the story to a presumably reputable news organization. I don't recall the Globe reporting on the allegation when the only source was the National Enquirer (but I may have missed that earlier story).
  5. sometimes serious from Canada writes: Politician = Power = need for power. It's all about being able to do it. I bet there are a few reputable politicians.......BUT NOT MANY.
  6. Virginia Crook from United Kingdom writes: If a professional politician, constantly in the public eye, isn't aware that at some point the story will out then they are incredibly naive and should not be in their chosen profession. I feel sorriest for Mrs. Edwards, she probably 'knew', in the way that most wives do, about the affair and chose to live with it until someone decided that it was a 'story'.
  7. Dr Demento from Canada writes: Edwards said 'If we want to live in a moral, honest just America and if we want to live in a moral and just world, we can't wait for somebody else to do it. We have to do it.'

    He 'did' it all right . . . .
  8. Festina Lente from United States writes: This is great news for the Obama Veep selection. He most surely qualifies now, having tacked on this newly revealed trait and asset which is common with a lot of former presidents. However, Bill Clinton will resent Edward's new found status and file a complaint with the press for overage reporting.
  9. S Lucht from British Columbia, Canada writes: At least two funny things in this article:

Mr. Bonior replied: 'You can't lie in politics and expect to have people's confidence.' Really? Who in power these days hasn't lied, and in some cases over and over again? How many of them have suffered grievously from a crisis of confidence among their allies and / or constituents?

Rielle Hunter's company name, 'Midline Groove Productions': glaring double entendre?
  10. Hook Punch from Canada writes: What is it with US politicians? Didn't Gingrich also have an affair while his wife was battling cancer? Nice guys, their wife is facing death and they decide to go eff around.
  11. yellow snow from Antibes, France writes: From the article: 'ABC said a former Edwards campaign staffer claims he is the father, not Mr. Edwards.'

She's slept with at least 2 members of Edward's campaign staff and large sums of money were promptly deposited into her bank account....isn't it obvious she's the campaign prostitute!!
  12. Matt O from Toronto, Ontario, Canada writes: Festina's cynicism aside, I find it remarkable that politicians do these sorts of things. Nevermind the odiousness of sleeping around while your wife battles cancer.

Gary Hart trashed his presidential campaign the same way. Seriously, you'd think that a second before the pants came down, they would reflect on the irreperable damage that a few seconds worth of grunting would do to their careers when/if the news gets out. I mean come on, just zip up, go home and watch an 'adult' movie...the end result is basically the same thing.

Clinton, like JFK, had the personal charisma to deflect such damage, but they are rare breeds. In any even, Edwards has killed any chance that he will ever be VP, never mind president.
  13. diane marie from calgary, Canada writes: Well, as I believe Henry Kissinger said, 'Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac'. Apparently, being around the powerful is, too.
  14. Michele K from Ottawa, Canada writes: What a pig. I guess no suprize, though - this is a guy who puts his political ambitions above his wife's needs all the time.
  15. Yvonne Wackernagel from Woodville, Canada writes: Between the scandals in America and Israel, there is scarcely room for any other scandalous news these days. And then we complain about other nations !
  16. Conservatives Lie from Canada writes: What a shame. He had such a consistent nice guy image until now. It's tarnished, but I'm not willing to say that he's a total monster just yet.
  17. j adams from Winnipeg, Canada writes: Just trying to figure out how this will be used against Obama. Make no mistake about it it will be used against Obama. In general against democrats with the underlying tones of Obama, being a Democrat. Ignoring the even sleezier sex scandal stuff that the certain Republican politician and supporters have been nailed with lately. Yes, that was a pun.
  18. Michele K from Ottawa, Canada writes: I don't know, Conservatives Lie - I think it's better we know a little about the character of this guy BEFORE he reaches the corridors of power. My standard for high public office is a little higher than, 'not a total monster just yet'.
  19. Thomas D'Arcy McGee from Canada writes:
Edwards mistake was that he wasn't a Republican trolling for boys in an airport washroom.

Then he could be qualified to hold office in Congress.

This will give Fox News something rage on for weeks.

Sean Hannity will somehow blame it all on Obama.
  20. Paul F. from Toronto, Canada writes: Hook Punch from Canada writes: What is it with US politicians? Didn't Gingrich also have an affair while his wife was battling cancer? Nice guys, their wife is facing death and they decide to go eff around.

    ---

Actually Gingrich brough his divorce papers to his wife's hospital bed to sign them.
  21. Friendly Anglo from Ottawa, Canada writes: What a scumbag!
  22. R E from Toronto, Canada writes: Thomas D'Arcy McGee from Canada writes:
'Sean Hannity will somehow blame it all on Obama. '

Yep, that train is always on time. Buttons to beachrocks says it'll be 'How will this affect Obama since Edwards endorsed him?' Followed by 'Well, you know, Obama has gotten bad press lately with Rev. Wright'.....and so on.
  23. Dr Demento from Canada writes: Rielle Hunter looks like she just walked out of a trailer park:

    http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlLA/original/56299.jpg
  24. R E from Toronto, Canada writes: 'bill johnson from Quebec, Canada writes: G&M: in the name of fairness, are you going to show her puppies a la Bernier?'

Couldn't agree more Bill. I miss those puppies.
  25. Friendly Anglo from Ottawa, Canada writes: She looks like Camilla. You know, Chuck's wife.
  26. Michael Sharp from Victoria, Canada writes:

    Snork.

At least Bush hasn't had any sex scandals.
  27. Michael Sharp from Victoria, Canada writes:

    Obama, visibly cringing.
  28. Ricky for a Centrist Canada from Canada writes:
Republicans and FOX will have trouble linking this to Democrats, seeing as how their own house has been more than a little troubled...careful in that washroom, guys!
  29. evelyn robinson from Canada writes: Why is this news or anyones business except for the gentleman and his wife.
  30. Dr Demento from Canada writes: Michael Sharp from Victoria, Canada writes:

'At least Bush hasn't had any sex scandals.'

He probably hasn't had any sex period . . .
  31. born a cynic from Canada writes: Michael Sharp from Victoria, Canada writes:

    Snork.

At least Bush hasn't had any sex scandals.

Well yeah who in his right mind would want to?
Bush can barely put a sentence together how would be manage to sweet talk a gal into bed?

This all about nothing...Diana Marie has it right..power is the ultimate aphrodisiac...all you losers are just griping because you still got to wank to get any satifaction
  32. sidney Goldberg from writes: In the famous words of John Edwards WHY. This is the guy who gives us stories about a poor hurting individual and than gets a $200. haircut. He lives in a large very expensive home and claims deep sympathy for someone who can't afford medical treatment. The news won't make a difference to the presidential race unless 45 delegates means a lot. Yvonne you obviously have not read the headlines about the President of France wife or the leader in South Africa who says Aids does not exist. John Edwards is not Jewish and has no relationship with Israel where Prime Minister Olmert is resigning as Kadima's leader for a whole different crime. By the way when the President of Israel got caught playing around he lost his position and left office. Yvonne you could care less about John Edwards or Olmert you just need to bash in no specific order the US and Israel. Edwards has finished his career no loss and the same if the allegations are proven true can be said for Olmert or anyone else like them. Sydney Joel Goldberg
  33. Harold Alan from Victoria from Canada writes: He was having an affair, but reassured everyone he really didn't love her. I feel reassured.

However...I for one think this is between him and his wife. I think there are a whole lot of other issues I would be more concerned about than a politician's infidelity.

    And...

How did sex get to be the litmus test for all morality.
Murder and mayhem is fine on T.V. but Janet Jackson's nipple sends folks into a frenzy.
  34. Peter North from van, Canada writes: the high-minded republicans' sex scandals, with their toilet trysts and meth heads, are much more salacious.
  35. Paul H from Canada writes: I am amazed...not one Globe and Mail commentator blaming Mr. Harper!!! Will wonders never cease to be?
  36. roy f from van, Canada writes: Stupid story.
Unfortunately stupid stories matter in America.
  37. Michele K from Ottawa, Canada writes: evelyn robinson from Canada wrote: 'Why is this news or anyones business except for the gentleman and his wife.'

Because he aspires to high public office, evelyn, that's why.

    And what 'gentleman'?
  38. CM Chen from Toronto, Canada writes: And to think he was almost elected to the VP position and may have been the President !!

What am I saying, Clinton has the same moral value .... must be something about powerful politicians in the U.S.
  39. Norman Petit from Canada writes: Asked whether the affair would damage Mr. Edwards' future aspirations in public service, Mr. Bonior replied: 'You can't lie in politics and expect to have people's confidence.'

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
  40. Some Guy from Canada writes: Look at him? Who wouldn't sleep with Jon Edwards?
  41. Colin Tomlins from Canada writes: In further news, dog bites man.

I better clarify... not a shot at politicians, just a drive-by smear of the gender.

It is so easy for people to get the wrong message these days.
  42. Brian Dell from Stockholm, Sweden writes: If Ignatieff were Prime Minister you can bet Canada would officially be cheering the Russians on. Remember this is a Russian Canadian who can't 'take Ukraine seriously'.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOcwJHd4gl4
  43. dick brown from missy, Canada writes: Remember...he's a democrat, so it's ok!!!
  44. Brian Dell from Stockholm, Sweden writes: Sorry, wrong forum.
  45. bill johnson from Quebec, Canada writes: where are her puppies G&M???? Oh the madness of it.
  46. The Wight from Canada writes: Two points ...

    a) Having an affair while your spouse is terminally ill is more common than people would think. It's a time of great stress, little physical intimacy and many people who have been married for quite some time feel that gaping hole in their family is just too big to handle ... so they fill it temporarily.

    b) I'll bet Edwards strongly declined an interest in the VP job after Obama beat Clinton precisely because he knew this would eventually come out.
  47. joseph Cheng from Toronto, Canada writes: I thought only the GOPs had hormones in the wrong places. Now the Dems also. Bill surely has good company. Where is Jesse, the Rev. Jackson? Should he not rush to Edward's side, hold his hands and pray as he did when Bill confessed? I wonder what Obama, the man with a million answers, will say!
  48. B Fulsom from Menlo Park, United States writes: Most interesting is the fact that the Enquirer broke this story three weeks ago and it has passed around on the blogs, yet not a peep was heard from the mainstream media until it could no longer be hushed up or ignored. Makes one wonder what other campaign 'news' continues unreported. One thing is for sure, I'll never look at a National Enquirer headline in the checkout line the same way again.
  49. Derek Holtom from Swan River, Canada writes: who cares? seriously.
  50. The Middle Finger ..I.. from Canada writes: Time for the wives to get into the game.
  51. Montgomery C. Burns from Springfield, Canada writes: Wow, the Enquirer was right!
  52. Aaron S. from United States writes: Men with big ego's tend to flock to politics, and part of their ego is in their pants.
  53. The Middle Finger ..I.. from Canada writes: And then a dumb reporter asks McCain to comment. With his history? Good thing he kept his mouth shut. Phlandering is a policy he has shared with some recent high profile Democrats. Only difference is he married his.
  54. Thomas D'Arcy McGee from Canada writes:
Michael Sharp from Victoria, Canada writes:

'At least Bush hasn't had any sex scandals.'

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually Michael, I think that should read : 'Bush hasn't had any sex'.

    Well, maybe once.

    The twins you know.
  55. J G from Toronto, Canada writes: When a Democrat ( gay rights supporter ) get caught with their pants down, its with a woman. When a Republican ( gay rights hater ) gets caught with their pants down, it's with another man. Go figure.
  56. The Middle Finger ..I.. from Canada writes: To Michael Sharp from Victoria, Canada who wrote:

'At least Bush hasn't had any sex scandals.'

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

He's probably need Dick Cheney to tell him how get it up.
  57. The Bull from Canada writes: the real story is that the MSM buried this story until they HAD to report it. anyone that actually believes the majority of papers aren't ridiculously liberal (hello! you're at one right now!) is delusional.

and, JG, of T.O., there is a big difference between a guy playing footsies in a bathroom and say, for example, Governor McGreevey (D) New Jersey.

    nice try, though.
  58. Bill G from Calgary, Canada writes: That's about as low as you can go. Except for PETA and some religious zealots wanting to disrupt a young man's funeral.
  59. R Wolovet from New York, United States writes: Edwards has always been a sleeze. After all he made his money by ambulance chasing. Then there are the issues other posters have referred to - the $200 haircuts, etc. He says it all. He thought he was so special. It is the arrogance of power or the proximity to power.
  60. aniphylactic shock troops from Victoria, Canada writes: Once a douzhe b@g litigation lawyer, always a douzhe b@g litigation lawyer.
  61. Iain's Opinion from Canada writes: SO WHAT?
A persons sex life is between the 'married/equivalent to' partners and consentual adults, PERIOD.
People were not evolved to be monagamous and it's high time that you dorknoids admitted the truth. SEX is the second most powerful drive in the human machine, superceded only by survival.
    GET USED TO THE IDEA.
I just plain despise you ever so superior moralists who don't even come close to living up to the standards that you hold other people to.
IF YOU DON'T WALK THE TALK, THEN SHUT UP.
OR AS JC SAID THOSE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULD NOT CAST THE FIRST STONE. Personally I think he should have said any instead of 'the first'. Likely he did but somebody used poetic liscence.
  62. BUB ImumI from Canada writes: ..//

    The affair is nothing.

But he is a creepy lawyer.

    ..//
  63. J G from Toronto, Canada writes: The NJ Gov never publicly denounced gays so the point of my comment went right over your head. I'm talking about the hypocritical, bible bouncing, barrel sucking, redneck, yahoos who do publicly criticize gays.
You really are lost if you think Senator (R) Larry Graig was just after a game of footsie. Oh, and then there's U.S Rep Mark Foley (R) trolling for page boys. But the biggest prize of all is Ted Haggard the evangelical. Conservative closet cases all. Nice try though.
  64. Carbon Blob from Sector 7G, Canada writes: joseph Cheng from Toronto, Canada writes: 'I thought only the GOPs had hormones in the wrong places. Now the Dems also.'

Yeh, but al least when the male 'Dems' have affairs it seems to be with female 'Dems'.

So many of the GOP affairs seem to be taking place in airport bathrooms with the male occupants of the stalls or with the young male paiges on capital hill. Not that there is anything wrong with homosexuality of course, but they sure as heck seem to preach and rail against it.
  65. The Middle Finger ..I.. from Canada writes: To Brad Wood from Houston, United States who wrote: Is she hot?

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

She looks like Prince Charles' wife Camilla.
  66. 1 i from Canada writes: The Mop and Pail scooped by the Enquirer! K (Tommy Lee Jones in MIB) was right, they have the only real news. I'm going to spend the next couple of hours trying to get my pug to talk to me in a pagan-black-death metal lead singer voice.
  67. National Action Committee on the Status of Elvis in Canada from Ottawa, Canada writes: 'At least Bush hasn't had any sex scandals.'

Sex scandals no. But let's not forget his Maine drunk driving conviction and how he tried to conceal it. Some clever Maine Yankee leaked it to the media three days before the 2000 election. Bush lost by 500,000 votes but it still wasn't enough by less than 1,000.
  68. Karin Pasnak from North Vancouver, Canada writes: Funny how males are always ashamed after they been caught.
  69. bill johnson from Quebec, Canada writes: The main street media would be all over this - photos and all - if it were a conservative or a republican. Take the G&M's approach to the Bernier affair (sorry). They had her breasts occupy 40% of their photos, and the story always had the photo. None of the US media wanted to carry this story, and when forced to do so, they make quick with it.

As newspapers and tv news try to understand where all the subscribers/viewers went, recall you have an educated populace that gets offended by biased reporting and will not its money to support you when they know your coverage is unbalanced.
  70. R. M. from Regina, Canada writes: Democrats do it with women..Republicans seem to prefer anonymous sex in same sex washrooms. God Bless America!
  71. emilio D from Canada writes: 'I did not have sex with that woman.' Ok, I did. Bill Clinton.
  72. bill johnson from Quebec, Canada writes: Have to give one thing to this wicked loser: at least he didn't drag his wife out there to make his public admission. That is so in vogue today, isn't it?
  73. mmm complete from Montreal, Canada writes: At a time when Print and Broacast Media are getting broadsided by the Interent, you'd think the mainstream U.S. media would be more loyal to their profession than to their personal leftist political agenda, as they covered up this story for 2 weeks since the Inquirer first broke it.

Bet if it were an out of office Republican, say Mitt Romney, all the old media would broadcast their 6pm news from Romneys front lawn.

But Edwards, he's one of the beautiful people....all this while his wife is dying of CANCER !

If it were a Republican, it would be a Scandal. In this case, it's his personal tragedy and he is to be left alone!

I am thoroughly enjoying how Inquirer reporters had to chase him into a hotel bathroom stall for a comment.

Equally enjoying the self inflicted credibility gap of the left wing U.S. media.

A nice break from the Obama-overload!
  74. robert roels from Canada writes: Judge ye not lest ye be judged
  75. Dr Demento from Canada writes: Why is it that Americans have to chose between immoral horny dogs or brain dead ex-alcoholics for their Presidents . . . ?
  76. Mr. Justice from Anytown, Canada writes: It's funny to read about how 'outraged' right-wingers are by this.

Especially since the current McCain Marriage began as an affair between John and Cindy . . . while John was married to Carol.

    HA HA !
  77. A C from Albertario, Canada writes:
Little did I realize that when Edwards was campaigning on his 'Two Americas' platform that there were also two John Edwards.

    .
  78. Jeff Smyth from Canada writes: The first politician that answers any campaign question regarding infidelity with an enthusiastic....'If she's hot enough, hell yes!' gets my vote.
  79. Beer and Popcorn from Canada writes: More lies from the left! When will it ever stop?
  80. desiderio manzanal jr from laval, Canada writes: THis is typical ...rich, powerful will fancy their desire as long they can hide it. They only regret getting caught
  81. Carly MacKay from United States writes: Actually George Bush did have an affair. It was before he entered politics. He even admitted it. I feel very bad for Elizabeth Edwards. It must be a very tramatizing time for her- dying of cancer and having your husband of 30 years screwing around on you.
  82. George BrownIII from Christmas Island writes: Too bad I am not free of sin to comment!
  83. Tax my toilet paper, please Dion - I will use less from Canada writes: I like Bernier's scandal a lot more.
  84. robert roels from Canada writes: I wonder why the men are all taking it between the eyes when they had someone who they played with who was just as guilty if not more so.

Maybe if the adulteress didn't dye her hair, had unshaven legs and armpits and never wore make up she may not have convinced Johnny that a roll in the hay would meet his fantasy and/or expectations.
  85. Jo Hanna from Canada writes: Edwards is just another flawed human being. The only thing disgusting about this are the You Tube videos and the money from supporters that paid for them because they were made by someone who obviously was totally out of her depth.
  86. Jesu Pifco from Canada writes: Quite something to behold, all these Canuckistanis get their Stanfields in a knot over some Yankee politician's Fruit Of The Loom malfunction.
  87. Cognitively Cogitative from Urbia, Canada writes: I don't care who they're f***ing in private. I want to know who they're f***ing in public.
  88. F Johnson from Canada writes: The Edwards confession but refusing to admit he fathered the child reminds me of Bill Clinton admitting to smoking marijuana but saying he didn't inhale. Sorry John that dog won't hunt.
  89. John Smith from Ottawa, Canada writes: I suspect we can now move NC and their 15 electoral votes from the toss up column to a red state. I think it will be interesting to see not only if Wanderin John shows up at the Dem convention and also how the soft Dem`s leaning towards BHO react.

Is it only me or does anyone else notice how semi-appealing this woman looks. The Coulliard Twins are far more more attractive then her or Monica The Stain Saver
  90. bill johnson from Quebec, Canada writes: The national enquirer again beats the 'all the news that's fit to print' NYT to the story. At least the NYT now has this on their web site; took them a little longer and with less enthusiasm than when they slagged McCain a few months ago, inferring in a front page story but never demonstrating, that he had had an affair with a blondie. As I said earlier, while they looking for their lost subscriptions, they can look for their lost credibility at the same time.
  91. Holston Lane from Ottawa, Canada writes: It is not the sex.
    It is not the f***ing.
    Or the hidden baby.
    It is the lies.
He is a liar. He can never be trusted now.
A stinking, no good, dirty liar.

Damn right I am going to beat up on you, Buster!

(He obviously did not beat himself up enough since he went to see her last month. Masochist?
    Or, LIAR??)
  92. Red-necked and persecuted from Canada writes: Democratic women must have to pass a stupidity test in order to join the party. Despite thinking themselves as being uber liberal by welcoming abortion on a whim, homosexuality (a right today - compulsory tomorrow?) sexual deviation /depravation Vatsayana couldn't even imagine and thinking of themselves erudite in all things 'modern', these women are, for all intents and purposes, slaves to their masters. What a joke - one they'll never get!
  93. John Smith from Ottawa, Canada writes: Interesting take on this story. Why did MSM ignore this story, and what are they going to say if Wanderin' John doesn't show up at the Dem convention.

  94. The Bull from Canada writes: Hey, JG - oh, i get your point. fact is, i am not defending any of these idiots, or trying to pick a fight.

just saying it works both ways, and when it is a 'conservative' the media is all over it.

liberals sure are touchy about their precious MSM.

ever notice that conservatives don't argue about it when people say, for example, that Fox is 'right wing', or the Sun is 'conservative'?

    of course they are.

why argue that everything else (especially in this country) isn't 'liberal'?
  95. Anthony B from Maritimes, Canada writes: Probably a lot of very nervous politicians and wannabe politicians out there today, waiting for next week's edition of the Enquirer.
  96. Mr. Justice from Anytown, Canada writes: Why has the MSM given John McCain a 'pass' on his adultery with Cindy ?

    Just asking.
  97. drunk wookie from TO, Canada writes: This isn't news...(as wookie stretches foot under bathroom stall....tap-tap-tap!!!!)
  98. More CO2 Gas from Canada writes: Liars have no business in public office. Best they just stay with their law practices.
  99. CC Rider from Toronto, Canada, Canada writes: Whose zooming who???? Denial! Denial! Denial! Image.....Image....Image........That's politics today..........
  100. Dr Demento from Canada writes: It is a well known fact that Republican presidential hopeful John McCain had an adulterous affair with a millionaire temptress, Cindy Hensley, 28 years ago while still married to his wife Carol.

Any neocons posting here, including the ultra ideologue Mary Smith need to address this FACT . . .
  101. Mr. Justice from Anytown, Canada writes: Mary: . . . Your hero McCain DID admit to his affair with Cindy.

Or are you denying that, too ?
  102. sam johnson from Canada writes: a POLITICIAN cheatin on his wife and lyin about it?

    git a rope!
  103. Mr. Justice from Anytown, Canada writes: Mary Smith has already told us what she 'thinks':

'Oh, how I love stupid Canadians.' Posted 30/06/08 AM EDT
  104. John Ishmael from Brampton ON, Canada writes: It's a story because Edwards took the 'fI am family values' position, because his wife is very ill and because he lied - and got caught. Moreover, it is a story because he was likely on the VP nominee shortlist for Obama and that could have sunk Obama if the exposure were made after release of the short list trial balloon.

Most moms didn't tell us guys that there are lots of predatory women out there looking for the O, dough and power - we lads think that we are the pedators! LOL.
  105. Dr Demento from Canada writes: At least McCain isn't gay . . .
  106. John Smith from Ottawa, Canada writes: Mr. Justice from Anytown, Canada writes: Why has the MSM given John McCain a 'pass' on his adultery with Cindy ?

    Just asking.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's simple. John married Cindy 20yrs ago and it's old news. Cindy was and is very wealthy, but John never direectly benefitted. They have a pre-nup (for what its worth) and they file separate tax returns. Finally, John and his 1st wife are still on good terms and they both raised their kids together. It may be old noews, or it's not newsworthy at all.
  107. a brown from OutWest, Canada writes: So the G&M blasts out a headline and story on a high profile AMERICAN politican having an affair, yet doesn't tell us about the high CANADIAN politicain who fathered a child a lttle over a year ago with a woman, not his wife and half his age. Instead of telling us about John Edwards, why not Vic Toews - you know, that 'family values', marriage is sacred' hyprocrite ReformConservastive? At least, if this stuff is anybody's business, the Toews affair at least has some bearing on Canadians. After all, he's the former Justice Minister (demoted and shuffled out of the spotlight to his current position as President of the Treasury Board, and is now likely to get a plum seat as a federal judge, thereby completing his shuffle off the public radar...at a cost of $230,000.00 a year for life. Nice. I notice Edward's wife is 'standing by him'. Toews? Not so much.

How about Tom Wappel? You know LPC MP from Scarborough who ran on family values then had an affair (and eventually married) his sectretary
  109. Mr. Justice from Anytown, Canada writes: John Smith: . . . Thanks for repeating the standard McCain evasive non-explanation for "what happened".

The fact is: John and Cindy committed adultery. How "long ago" isn't important because "character is always an issue" . . . except for the Right and for the MSM, which has given McCain a "pass" on this and so many other issues.
  110. robert roels from Canada writes: A brown:

I wasn't aware of it why give him a judgeship making $230,000 a year after causing a scandal while in service to his country. Let him find his way in private enterprise and not reward him.

I am sure he would have demanded the same of another while he was Justice Minister
  111. Dr Demento from Canada writes: a brown from OutWest, Canada writes: "CANADIAN politician who fathered a child a lttle over a year ago with a woman, not his wife and half his age. Instead of telling us about John Edwards, why not Vic Toews - you know, that 'family values', marriage is sacred' hyprocrite ReformConservastive? At least, if this stuff is anybody's business, the Toews affair at least has some bearing on Canadians."

Holy crap - this is news to me. Vic Toews is my pontificating CPC MP.

I always knew he was a fraud like most of his ilk.

Wait till the Hutterites find out . . .
  112. mike sty - from Canada writes: North Carolina senator confessed to ABC News he had lied repeatedly..................

    Must be related to Harper.

    Will Harper ever admit......I Lied.....I Lied.....I Lied......I Lied.....I Lied.....I Lied......I Lied.....I Lied.....I Lied......I Lied.....I Lied.....I Lied
  113. John Smith from Ottawa, Canada writes: Mr.

You are wrong and that's why no one cares. Not McCains ex, not the US public, not the MSM, not even the McCain kids. I am sure that if it was an issue CNN or MSNBC would be looping it for all it's worth. Remember, when John and Cindy hooked up McCain wasn't even in public office.

Sorry John - immorality is eternal. John McCain has no moral compass.
