SusieQ 321 from NoWhereVille, Canada writes: MY solution is easy come work in the US then you will never hear about any one else winning other than an American athlete... and you will have to search out your Countries favs and find the data...
No blackout no PVR's no stopping people in mid sentence... which I think is insane for a sporting event... just working and living... and looking for the Olympic Results online as they come up...- Posted 08/08/08 at 9:17 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Alex D from Ottawa, Canada writes: I hear you SusieQ. I have many friends Stateside who are into triathlons and track and field and they all decry the lack of coverage. When you do turn on the network at night, all you get is the hard luck story about how some athlete struggled against adversity to make it to the games yada yada yada, but no coverage of the flipping events! Save it for Oprah please.
On the bright side, NBC is streaming the events live on the Internet this year. The stream is blocked to non-US IPs, but I have VPN access through a US server and what I've seen looks very promising. 4 screens at once!
I also use a Slingbox on my set top box at home and log into it remotely. I get an very good picture on my laptop no matter where I am in the world (high speed required). You could easily set one up at a buddy's place in Canada and log in to watch Canadian TV.- Posted 08/08/08 at 5:02 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Joe V from Canada writes: Spoiler warning! If an athlete is a Canadian they are almost guaranteed to lose.
But that won't stop our government from pissing our tax dollars on games in foreign countries while people die in our pathetic hospitals.- Posted 09/08/08 at 5:33 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

R. M. from Regina, Canada writes: Criticize President Bush all you want but at least he is IN China, advancing with the Chinese Prime Minister critical issues and concerns and he understands that in order to effect change you must remain engaged, cooperative and firm in your resolve.
Canada, sadly, took a less honorable and less effective route with our PM staying home.- Posted 10/08/08 at 9:08 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: R. M. from Regina...
Typical from you... had Harper gone you would have criticized him for that.
Just like you are critical of everything about the US until is suits your hypocritical purposes.
And you wonder why nobody cares about anything you have to say.
Hypocrite.
Cheers.- Posted 10/08/08 at 11:35 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Carmen Mattioli from Pera, Portugal writes: The answer is simple, don't watch these games. Boycott any products coming from countries that ignore human rights and civil liberties, no excuses no hypocrisies just do it, turn off your TV's with Olympic programs. I'm doing it, surely you can too!

Simon Templar from Vancouver, Canada writes: True enough...let's play the "blame Stevie Harper for something" game together. If he'd gone to Beijing, we'd crucify him for insensitive to human rights, blah blah...now that he hasn't gone, let's crucify him for not supporting our athletes and having little chats with the Chinese leadership.
R.M. from Regina, let's see how much Bush accomplished during his little visit in China. No other politician in fifty years has had any success with the Chinese, and you think the Drooling Idiot will? LOL!- Posted 11/08/08 at 8:25 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
