He really spoke truth to power

The death of Alexander Solzhenitsyn last Sunday was the passing of a human-rights giant. There are few individuals, writers or otherwise, who even approach his stature as an opponent of repression and tyranny, who resisted to the depth of his soul the incursions of arbitrary state power on the lives of individuals.
