Crash case should raise alarm bells, prosecutor says

VANCOUVER — Gerald Guliker was released from police custody with 13 conditions to ensure he didn't harm himself or his family, whom he was forbidden from contacting after threatening his wife and breaching restraining orders four times. Three weeks later, Mr. Guliker steered his van into an SUV, killing himself and a 40-year-old stranger and injuring the SUV's four passengers. RCMP investigators are treating the incident as a murder-suicide.
