The idea of paying to sleep sounds a little silly, but if it helps people be better rested it might not be such a bad thing. We're a society of chronically tired people, mostly getting by with the help of caffeine (great stuff that it is!).
As someone who's suffered with some minor level of insomnia I know that it often isn't as easy as simply turning off the mobile phone. The idea of spending a couple thousand for a lifetime of good sleep, like Ms. Ross is claiming in the article, sounds like a pretty good deal.- Posted 15/08/08 at 2:41 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

SusieQ 321 from NoWhereVille, Canada writes: As someone who suffers from seasonal insomnia it really isn't as simple as drinking yourself into a stupor or taking drugs... or several other things. When you know you will toss and turn for hours and then wake up hours before your alarm clock you get to the point where you can't remember the last full nights sleeps and time for naps seem like an incredible godsend.... where trying anything includes spending outrageous amounts of money on workshops and techniques seems reasonable and sane.
This doesn't seem like a bad deal.... trust me as someone who thinks the last full night of sleep I had was sometime around labour day sleep becomes a commodity and one that you are willing to pay for!- Posted 17/09/08 at 9:37 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
