Female inmates can no longer keep newborns

VANCOUVER — Female inmates who want to bond with their newborn babies will no longer be able to do that in a British Columbia jail.Corrections B.C. has cancelled a plan that allowed women who give birth in prison to keep their babies with them while they served time. Now, babies born to jailed moms will go to a relative or be placed in foster care.
