At least 100 killed in Madrid plane crash
MADRID — The Spanish government has raised its estimate of the number of dead in Wednesday's Spanair plane crash at Madrid airport to at least 100 and has counted 27 survivors, most of them badly injured, the newspaper El Pais said on its website.
The Spanair jet crashed on takeoff and burst into flames at Madrid airport on. An emergency services source reported about 150 deaths.
