Maple Leaf moves into crisis mode

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. worked to contain an escalating crisis Thursday, as a massive deli-meat recall threatened to shake consumers' faith in one of Canada's most recognized brands.
The company initiated a $2-million recall of more than 20 meat products this week and temporarily closed a Toronto processing plant after one person died and at least 16 were made ill by a listeria outbreak.
