  1. SL S from Saskatchewan, Canada writes: Good for you Edmonton. Way to continue "The Rider, downward, Slider".
  2. Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Congrats Eskies.

Watched most of the last Half.
Guess it was an OK game, but compared to all the other Western games this year it got a little loop-sided and switched to the Mariners game for an inning.

Never will forget 'THE CATCH' when Eskimos beat the Stamps in the best game of the year. Man that was 'Exciting' LAST SECOND stuff. That was a real CFL game.

Better watch tomorrow night's game. Stamps/Lions both teams fresh coming off the Bye Week.--Wish we (Leos) still had The Genius at QB instead of playing (back-up) to Burris in Cowtown.
  3. RONNY TALBOT from Yahk BC, Canada writes: If Sask insists on playing him, Mr Crandell will continue to show the form (dismal) which saw him given a ticket out of Cowtown. In related news, investigators have discovered that Marcus may only be 14 years old and hence is ineligible to play in the CFL, leading astute Rider fans to rejoice.
  4. Derek Holtom from Swan River, Canada writes: Marcus needs to run. all CFL qbs need to run. if he can't run, get durant back and get him in there.
Edmonton never pulled away, and the Riders were in the game until the late stages.
I expect a much better performance at Labour Day.
  5. E Cox from Canada writes: 48,000 at wet, cold Commonwealth!!! Way to support CFL football, Edmonton!!! Nice!

And a nice win by the Eskies as well!
  6. Alonso Garnet from Canada writes: Tried watching it. Walked the dogs after the second quarter, second half wasn't bad if you enjoy watching poorly executed football. Remembered why I don't watch much CFL and turned over to the Bears pre-season game. Hey, at least I tried. Next week real football starts.
  7. Derek Lambert from Canada writes: Alonso Garnet from Canada writes: Next week real football starts.

Hey Alonso stop hating on the CFL. I'll be the first to say the NFL is the best football in the world. It Also costs five times more to go to a game and all the teams are in cities I could't give a crap about. I made it to last night's game for $20 including 2 beer. Although it would have been nice for the Rider's to show up, I can't think of any better value for my entertainment dollar. I'm not sure if you've spent much time in Alberta but there's lots of Rider fans here and when the Riders are in Edmonton, there's more of a buzz than if the Flames are (48,000 on a rainy cold Thursday). I'm not gonna tell you to even care for the CFL but what end is achieved does hating on it do? Let us, who do, enjoy it.
  8. boom boom from Canada writes: Its quiet in gopherhumper land today. A whuppin' by the smos!
  9. max from edmonton from Canada writes: I cant bring myself to watch another Eskimos game till Maccocia is gone.

Never in my life have I seen a coach take so little responsibility for failure, yet hog all the glory when there is success.

There is no team in Macoccia
  10. M Poland from Calgary, Canada writes: 4-0 ends Sept. 5th. Anybody could have beaten the Greenies after we physically thrashed them over 2 games. and you Eskies--you won't have Lazaruk reffing for you on Labour Day this year .... Come on a my house ....
  11. Alonso Garnet from Canada writes: Derek Lambert, at least I tried to watch the CFL...maybe I got the wrong game, but after watching last year's East and West Final and the Grey Cup, plus this game, I say bring on the WNBA. Me, I prefer to watch minor league football (supporting the local junior the CIS teams) and junior hockey (hey I can get a junior hockey ticket and a beer for under $16 dollars). I expect the occasional poor execution with those groups. I imagine most CFL fans wouldn't be caught dead at a junior or CIS game, especially those loyal Regina Rider fans (the Husky's/Hilltops bring more fans to Taylor field when they play the Rams/Thunder than Regina can muster.
  12. Reality Check from Canada writes: Alonso Garnet....

Yea, like needing 4 downs to move the ball, and with scores that rarely reach double digits...

    Wa-hooo. that's entertainment...
  13. Alonso Garnet from Canada writes: Reality Check, fair enough to criticize US football....heck I do it to Canadian cos I find the execution poor, the two and punt offense boring, the refing autrocious and the players rather ambeviant about their performance. Funny though, most of the people who ciriticize US football don't know much about the fundamentals of the game. I imagine you are one of those.
  14. Ziad Fazel from Calgary, Canada writes: M Poland, I'm with you. The 2 games with Calgary exposed a lot of Rider weaknesses, and Edmonton is the next to exploit them. TSN had an interesting stat:

    - In the 6 Rider wins, Cates ran for more than 100 yards, and the opposition RB well under 100

    - In the 2 Rider losses, Cates was held under 50 yards, and the opposition RB got over 100

First Calgary, then Edmonton, burned the overcommitted Rider pass rush with a strong emphasis on running up the gut, and passing into crossing routes about 8 yards deep. And exploited the Rider injuries on offence by keying on their remaining weapon, Cates.

Now lets see whether Calgary figured out a way during the bye week to stop BC's resurgence. Battle of the triplets' dads.
  15. Ziad Fazel from Calgary, Canada writes: Ronny Talbot, there is no way Crandell could be 14 now. Official CFL records (now suspiciously scrubbed from their website) clearly show him as 14 when he played for Calgary.

As a matter of fact, so was the former owner's kid, QB Feterik. That is the dark secret why Wally would never play that otherwise deserving athlete.

Completely right. Macoccia the little twerp, should have been fired two years ago.
  17. Michael Sharp from Victorious, Canada writes:

    Roughies bite.
    Looks good on them.

    Worst fans in the league.

    I know.

    I've sat beside them.

Hey BoyO got to agree wid you. The NFL is so gud it should be in Torrana cuz everting in yer "World Class City" es so gut. And you blokes are sech grat soccer fans two. Who in hell liks dat CFL pointy ball hennyway?

Eye like da way you guys hav such loyalty to yer Leaves two. Even Lose or unly get a Die you guys suppert da Bleu and Blanc. Fer enstance all games ar komplete sell-outs fer da TML. And so wud da NFL be sell-outs too, cuz hit do not take mug two pleeze youse Torrano guys.

'Sides youse are suh a BIG sity you don't have to give 'way tousands of tickets tuh an NFL game to get 48,000 like dat Little village of Hedmonchuk did tuh watch CFL pointy ball in tha ran-storm outdoors.

Go NFL--Go tuh Toranno they are ezzee to pleeze. Ya dun even have to win tuh get da smart Torranno fans tuh pay $250 bucks out of their Alberta Equalization to Ontario Welfare Cheques.

Alonso... My you are quick to get personal... Though I am sure that your attack is just to cover your inability to defend your choice of game. Or that you are just a pin-head... you pick...
