America's political bullhorn is big, but no big deal

Eddie Goldenberg remembers how much attention he paid to U.S. politics when he was helping to direct Jean Chrétien's re-election bid eight years ago.Not much, actually. The battle between Al Gore and George W. Bush that was running parallel to the Canadian general election in the autumn of 2000 was transfixing, a close contest only settled by the U.S. Supreme Court. But it was on another planet as far as Mr. Goldenberg was concerned.
