Pregnant woman's case not linked to Maple Leaf

A case of listeriosis that caused a pregnant 32-year-old woman to fall ill and give birth prematurely last month did not come from the strain linked to Maple Leaf Foods, health officials said yesterday. Inspectors are testing other possible sources of the bacterium, including cheese the woman ate, said Dr. Vinita Dubey, Toronto's associate medical officer of health.
