Life imitates art and the message is frightening.
Of the many arguments that can easily (and must) be made against the vindictive, ideologically driven and philistine cuts to arts funding our government is making, one of the slightly more complicated ones is that writers of "fiction," whether in books or for film and television, are prophets.
