  1. Bob Seven from Edmonton, Canada writes: When did he get hit? I wasn't watching the game so this is a bit of a shock.....but then again, not really.....when was the last time Dickenson wasn't on the injured list for a concussion??? He should do a Matt Dunnigan and retire when he still has some faculties!
  2. Matt Toma from Vancouver, Canada writes: Dave, retire. Thanks for the 2006 Grey Cup in BC, and all the years as player in the CFL.

You have a family, you have been wise with your money, and you are a sure fire hall of famer.

Retire with your head held high, and while you can still remember what you achieved.
  3. Ziad Fazel from Calgary, Canada writes: I second what Matt says. Thanks for everything you have done for the Stampeders too, every time you were here.

There are open doors waiting for someone of your class and drive, inside and outside football.
  4. Philip N from Toronto, Canada writes: I third it. Dave, don't take a chance with your noggin. It took Dunnigan years before he good string thoughts together... it's not worth the sacrifice. You are a great QB. Please retire as one.
  5. wayne powers from saskatoon, writes: I think Dave knows it's time to turn to the broadcast booth and he can do a good job there, be it TSN or the NFL network. This looks like the next move for the Stamps is to give Marcus a call, a good guy like Dickenson, who can help the whole team.
  6. John Samuel from St. Paul, United States writes: Yes, please end your career now. The fact that a "big" hit was not even in play means, to my untrained mind, that he must be very susceptible. I watched him play in person in the 2004 and 2006 Grey Cups and really enjoyed him as a leader on the field. Please retire now and save you mind and body.
  7. RONNY TALBOT from Yahk BC, Canada writes: I echo the praise and advice noted above. As for what caused the concussion this time? It's a mystery, but if it's any clue or consolation, I was in row 17 behind the Stamps bench and just watching these guys on Labour Day gave me such a serious headache that I'm sitting out the next 9 games too. Friday night :Edmonton by 14 at least---and this from a Stamps fan on Advil.
  8. M Poland from Calgary, Canada writes: Ronny, I hope that the broken ankle you suffered while jumping off of the Stampeder bandwagon heals. Hopefully Dave fully heals, and then retires. Meanwhile, let's play the game on Friday, and see what happens, ok?
  9. boom boom from Canada writes: If whatever hit that Dickenson took on Monday caused another concussion, he definitely needs to hang 'em up. We were in Row 14 and didn't see him take any real shots, just a couple of "rubs" we thought. Unless we missed something but I don't think so.

Anyway, I agree with the above posters that he's had a great run, time to retire. All the best Dave, class and brains are a nice combination in any arena.
