VIFF takes a cue from Cannes

Vancouver — The Vancouver International Film Festival has taken some cues from the Cannes Film Festival this year, opening with Blindness - the Don McKellar adaptation of the Jose Saramago novel that also opened Cannes - and closing with the Canadian premiere of The Class (Entre les murs), which won the Palme d'or at Cannes. The full VIFF lineup was announced yesterday.
