Altria may buy UST for $10-billion: NY Times

Altria Group Inc. is in advanced talks to buy UST Inc., known for its Skoal and Copenhagen smokeless tobacco brands, for more than $10-billion (U.S.), the New York Times said, citing people close to the negotiations. People involved in the deal plan to complete it as soon as Monday, the report said, adding the terms of a possible transaction were not known.
