Sev sevistan from The West, Canada writes: So nice to watch a football game where the players do not start wasting time with 2:00 left in the game. Why anyone watches the NFL is beyond me when the CFL is such a superior brand of entertainment.

Ziad Fazel from Calgary, Canada writes: Yeah, baby! That's what I'm talking about.
Whoever denied Mike Labinjo his meals today is a genius, because the big DE was tearing away chunks of Eskimo flesh all night. 3 sacks on Ray, taking out Prefontaine on the bobbled punt snap, a special teams tackle or two, and constant pressure on the O-line. His 2 straight sacks on the opening drive served notice that Calgary's D would not allow the O-line to dominate tonight's game, as it did on Labour Day.
This CP article is remiss in not even mentioning Labinjo, but maybe it is part of the secret strategy to prevent opposing teams from sending him a large pizza before the game. (I'll intercept it if I can get away alive). I hope his elbow is OK.
The opening minutes set the tone for the game: big plays, turnovers, resilience from adversity, ability to hold long drives to a major, and personal struggles to stay disciplined and effective on 4 days rest.
Calgary just did it better tonight, which bodes well for the playoff drive.
Thanks to all the players from both teams who played tired and hurt. Hope you all get well soon.- Posted 06/09/08 at 1:33 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

M Poland from Calgary, Canada writes: Like I wrote here two weeks ago, no way the Eskies are going 5-0 at home. What a warrior Nik Lewis is: He obviously has some sort of rib injury, and he still goes out there [more than once last night] and delivers; whether a catch or down-field blocking [what a great, clean hit on Scott Coe near the end]. Now, the Stamps have to get some separation from the others, and catch/pass the Greenies; maybe on Thanksgiving. Thewell, Copeland, Reynolds and both lines did the Stamps proud last night.

Paul Bayer from Parksville, Canada writes: Stamps need a better pass rush. They may have gotten to Ricky Bobby a few times but overall their pass rush was inconsistent. Good Hank showed up this game. 2nd game in 5 days for these teams. Why would they not schedule the rematch in Edmonton for Saturday or Sunday ?????? With 8 teams in the CFL , not hard too hard to schedule games .

Patricia Timms from Canada writes: The Author said "It wasn't pretty"!
What in hell was he watching?
If he wants 'pretty' then watch Figure Skating or the NFL.
But for entertainment watch the CFL.
Sadly the TSN sort of 'Sugar Coats' the sad-sack east teams.
But the TSN doesn't need to pour maple syrup over the Als they are already a great team.
Got'ta say it:--Congrats Ziad
And may you choke on your beer!
That was an exciting game bud.
A real knock down go for broke CFL'er.
Good on you Cowtowners!
Just a thought:
The more I see that Ray play QB, the more I see the 2nd coming of Dickenson.--God he's smooth.- Posted 07/09/08 at 10:40 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

boom boom from Canada writes: Paul Bayer, good comment regarding playing this game on 3 days rest, never made sense to me and still doesn't. Just a dumb idea. Move the game to Saturday or Sunday, no brainer.
