Battle begins for elusive majority

TORONTO, QUEBEC, MONTREAL — Conservative Leader Stephen Harper kicked off his long-planned assault on winning a majority government Sunday with a seamless start that moved from Rideau Hall to Quebec City and ended on the West Coast, two of the main battlegrounds in the Oct. 14 election campaign.
