Hap Stokes from Canada writes: The Ti-Cats are vastly improved.
Confess wasn't interested enough to even watch the first half, thought it would be just another blow out.
Boy what a surprise when I heard the half time score.
Then I turned that old TV on and it stayed on and was very impressed by the gritty way the Cats played.
This is good for the CFL and even greater for those super Hamilton fans. Maybe the Ti-Cats are finally becoming the team that town deserves. Wow the west is starting to bunch up. Don't think I'll judge the book by the cover anymore this year. You just never know in this great League.
Congrats to the 'Oilers' looks like you'll be in the Stanley Cup. Just poking fun at the G & M writer who twixted up his Eskimos with hockey instead of football.--Did he really write that? Is he still employed?- Posted 14/09/08 at 8:20 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Marc Chasseur from Nun's Island, QC, Canada writes: Should be noted the Cats were also Shanghai'd by some dreadful officiating. To wit, blatant interference on Tony Miles that wasn't called (resulted in an INT) and another non-call when Setta was run into whilst punting.

Ziad Fazel from Calgary, Canada writes: I used to wish the Ti-Cats well, and was happy to see Printers running like the Casey of old.
But for them to take a 4th quarter lead on the Eskimos, and then lose?! Causing my Stamps to lose second place?! Unforgivable.- Posted 14/09/08 at 1:35 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

D. Patrick from Gonzoville, Canada writes: One of the best games I've seen all year. Lots of turnovers and lead changes right to the end. A gritty Hamilton side.

black and white from canmore, Canada writes: been a Tiger cat fan my whole life (circa Barrow,Henley,Mosca) Printers had the worst case of tunnel vision I've ever witnessed as a fan...not once but twice by the same Dback all the way for a TD ....I played Dback and if the QB had major tunnel vision you feasted on him...course that was in high school... but alas...Printers is laughing all the way to the bank like it's "Ok baby no pressure on me...just get traded to a contender with my million dollar salary anyways" no wonder he can joke with Goss after the game...probably went out and bought him beers..

Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Referees, Umpires and other officials:
Long ago and far away I refereed a Junior A Hockey game (ONCE).
Hey had played the game for over 12 yrs, 4 yrs at a pretty high level.
I love all sports, hockey in particular, and still wanted to be connected to the game in some capacity. So when the League called and asked if I would be the 2nd Referee I jumped at the chance.
BAD MISTAKE!
I had a ONE game refereeing career.
What a tough job, both sides hate you, fans call you names. Even throw things at you.
Nowadays , I wouldn't Boo an Umpire if he called a Strike on a pitch in the dirt. Or like last week when the Officials 'Missed' two TDs in a row in that Calgary game. So Marc Chasseur from Nun's Island, QC if you think you can do any better. Apply for the job. You might get unlucky enough to get hired.- Posted 14/09/08 at 2:59 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Chris Sanislo from Oakville, Canada writes: Hap-- while I get what you're saying, these were badly missed calls that arguably cost Hamilton the game. Both calls would have resulted in Hamilton possessions. The guy wasn't even looking at the ball when he crushed Miles.
Either way, the Cats needed a defensive stance with a minute to play. And, even though they sacked Ray to leave a long second down, he still picked them apart.
Gee, coulda used someone decent at middle line-backer to ensure those tackles were made in the backfield...but, I guess we needed those draft picks more than a win.- Posted 15/09/08 at 10:34 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
