The forgotten U.S. issue: public education's decline
Last week, in Dayton, Ohio, Barack Obama delivered a major speech on education that was largely ignored. That may be a good thing. Because if teachers unions realized what he had in store for them, their powerful support for the Democratic Party might evaporate.
