  1. The Grill from Canada writes: That makes no sense. 7 1/2 games behind with only 7 games left. We would still be half a game short by the end. Unless we are really only 6 1/2 behind.
  2. Patrick F from Canada writes: Halladay should have had 25 wins this year but he never got enough run support. Look he's lost two COMPLETE GAMES in 0-1 losses. Sadly he should be the Cy Young winner this year but it'll probably goto some guy who won more games and didnt pitch like what does he have 8 or 9 complete games this season alone. Most dont get that many in their entire careers.
  3. asdf asdf from Canada writes: Don't be silly. Even if Halliday did have the run support, Cliff Lee would still deservingly win the Cy Young. He's 22-2 with a 2.41 ERA on the Indians. That's incredible.
  4. Richard Daystrom from Toronto, Canada writes: Cliff Lee will win the Cy Young award this year.
  5. Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: The Doc had a good year.... but had more than a few bad games.

Cliff Lee should and will win the Cy Young.

Halladay will be second and AJ may well be third.

    Cheers
  6. Kevin Cummings from Hanover, NH, United States writes: OK, i'm just putting this out there:

Lee has been average his last two starts (gave up 10 hits and 3 runs against Minny in 6.1 last game). He also has starts remaining in Boston and in Chicago (his last two starts I think).

Halladay has possible starts at home against NY and in Baltimore (depending on how Cito wants to play it - there is a day off Monday). So if (big if i guess) Lee gets torched by the BoSox in Beantown (not unlikely) and in Chicago, and Halladay has good starts (and beats) the yanks and Baltimore (not at all out of the realm of possible) than he'll wind up with 21 wins vs 22 Lee. Granted, Lee has the better ERA, but as Patrick F says, 8 complete games must factor in, and Halladay already has a better WHIP (which I think is a stat more telling of a pitchers ability than even ERA).

So Halladay may still be in-line for Mr. Cy, if things work out.
  7. Archie Gillespie from cowtown, Canada writes: What I wouldn't give to see Wells drive an outside pitch the other way instead of trying to pull everything...next season.
  8. bruce weaver from Canada writes: Absolutely ex Montreal Expo farmhand Cliff Lee is the Cy Young winner this year.

  10. Lorne Carmichael from Charlottetown, Canada writes: Roy Halliday is the best Blue Jay pitcher ever . Vernon Wells is the biggest choke to ever play for the Jays . You would think by accident that he might get a hit sometime when it really counts . But up 5 or down 5 , Vern is the man !
  11. R Miller from Halifax, Canada writes: Kevin Cummings from Hanover, NH, United States:

Hey... Your Jays actually beat my BoSox...

Somebody needs to be asking some "very tough questions" about this result, and if Halladay beats Lee for the Cy Young, can you give me the number for the FBI .... ;)

    Cheers
  12. Kevin Cummings from United States writes: R Miller,

Simply the result of a well-umpired game! ;)

Good luck today against the rookie Richmond. I'll be particularly interested to see how he matches up against Jason Bay, another talented B.C. product!
  13. G L from Thunder Bay, Canada writes: I am not going to suggest that the Doc is a Cy Young winner this year. But frankly if Iam going into a key game and given the choice between the Doc and Mr Lee.The Doc wins hands down. Regarding Mr Richmond,I am surprised the BJ's are giving him a start.based on what I've seen of him so far. in granted the few games he has appeared in. He has not impressed. Why didn't they give Mr Frazor a start? He certainly has a major league fast ball.
