Media experts agree CBC needs a variety of opinions

Academics and observers of the news media appear to agree with comments made Sunday by CBC News publisher John Cruickshank that CBC.ca and specifically its opinion page need to include a greater variety of viewpoints. Cruickshank made the comment after a wave of criticism stemming from an opinion piece, published Sept. 5, by award-winning freelance writer Heather Mallick, a former Globe and Mail writer.
