The Canadian Press

TORONTO — Joseph Boyden and Rawi Hage are among the finalists vying for this year's Scotiabank Giller Prize.

The $50,000 prize will be handed out on Nov. 11 at a gala dinner in Toronto.

Boyden was nominated for Through Black Spruce, while Hage got the nod for Cockroach.

Rounding out the short list is Anthony De Sa's Barnacle Love, Marina Endicott's Good to a Fault and Mary Swan's The Boys in the Trees.

This year's jury is made up of author Margaret Atwood, Liberal MP Bob Rae and author Colm Toibin.

This is the 15th year for the Giller, which was established in 1994 by Toronto businessman Jack Rabinovitch.
