How your life has changed since Sept. 11
Sept. 11 has made me more proud of being Canadian. Despite the critics, I fully support the way Prime Minister Jean Chrétien has handled the situation. Canada is against terrorism, but we are not irrational, and I am glad we have not killed innocent Afghan children yet. Canadians value human rights, regardless of race and religion. I am afraid both the Taliban and even the state of Israel do not share the same values. Canada did not abandon the last United Nations conference on racism, and this demonstrates our careful regard for all humanity and the world.

I’ve lost my job. The prospects for employment in the aircraft industry are not good.

If Osama Bin Laden were captured by the United States, would it not be better to place him in a psychiatric ward with television monitors recording his every move? If he were isolated from the other patients and forced to speak with several psychiatrists on a long-term basis, with his behaviour carefully monitored over a long period of time, I wonder what type of diagnosis the psychiatrists would come up with. Throwing him in jail would not change him. Medicating or hypnotizing him might give the United States and their allies the answers that they are searching for.
