In Afghanistan
Severely malnourished child Anis Gul, 14 mounths old, receives a porridge mixture from her mother in the Indira Gandhi Hospital in Kabul, February 25, 2002. Hospital officials say malnourishment among children is becoming an increasingly serious problem in Afghanistan because of drought and unemployment. This hospital benefits from food and medical aid from international NGOs, like Action Contre La Faim, but it has yet to receive any funding from the Interim Administration.
