Students of the largest Islamic madrassa (school) hold a protest in the port city of Karachi, Pakistan displaying a placard that states "Osama is our herrow" (hero) on September 18, 2001. More than 5,000 radical students staged a highly charged rally in Karachi, the largest protest on Pakistani soil at that time, because of fears of U.S. military action in Afghanistan. The first student at right is wearing a headband that reads "Jihad" (holy war).
