Defenceman Roman Hamrlik missed morning practice yesterday because of the flu and wasn't in the Montreal Canadiens' lineup against the Ottawa Senators last night.
"We sent him back home," coach Guy Carbonneau said before the game. "He was sick all day. ... [We]want to keep him away from the other players."
It was the first game Hamrlik has missed since signing a four-year deal as a free agent last summer.
While veteran Cristobal Huet started in goal against Ottawa, rookie goaltender Carey Price took part in his first skate since he was recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL on Monday.
Price may be the starter tomorrow against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is 3-0 against the Leafs this season.
