Another son of hockey great Patrick Roy is facing disciplinary action for his on-ice behaviour.

Frederick Roy was handed a 15-game suspension Monday by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for a high-sticking incident during the Quebec Remparts' match against the Montreal Juniors on Friday.

The incident happened during a time-out when Roy, a forward with the Remparts, struck Montreal defenceman Vincent Bourgeois in the mouth.

The league made the decision after reviewing a video of the incident and interviewing all those involved.

The video has since been posted on YouTube.

The suspension comes eight months after his brother Jonathan Roy was suspended for seven games by the QMJHL for participating an on-ice fight. Jonathan Roy, a goaltender with the Remparts, attacked opposing goaltender Bobby Nadeau during a game against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. He is facing criminal charges for his actions.

Roy skated the length of the ice during a brawl and barrelled over Nadeau before hitting him repeatedly. He then made an obscene gesture to Chicoutimi's fans.

Patrick Roy, the Remparts' coach, was suspended for five games for apparently encouraging his son during that fight.

That incident prompted Quebec's sports minister to create a committee to address the issue of gratuitous violence in hockey.
