The Toronto Blue Jays claimed catcher Bobby Wilson off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.

Wilson appeared in 75 games for the Angels last season, batting .211 with five doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs.

The 29-year-old posted a .277 on-base percentage and threw out 25 per cent of would be base stealers.

To make room on the Jays' 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Chad Beck was designated for assignment.
