The Toronto Blue Jays placed first baseman Adam Lind on the paternity list Thursday and recalled right-hander Brad Lincoln from triple-A Buffalo.
Lind has a .244 batting average in 17 games this season. He has three doubles, two RBIs and a .396 on-base percentage.
Lincoln has a 1-0 record and 4.50 earned-run average in five appearances with Buffalo this season.
He split last season between Pittsburgh and Toronto. Lincoln was 5-2 last year with a 3.68 earned-run average over 52 appearances.
The paternity leave list, which was adopted at the beginning of the 2011 season, is used when a player finds it necessary to leave the team to attend the birth of his child. A player placed on the paternity leave list must miss the next team game, but no more than three games.
