Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher David PriceDan Hamilton

The Toronto Blue Jays continue their road trip Friday night in Anaheim, where they play the first of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, a team that also has aspirations of making a late-season charge into the playoffs.

New Toronto ace David Price, on six days rest, will start for the Blue Jays in the first game. In his last start, on Aug. 14 in Toronto against the Yankees, Price was credited with a no-decision after New York slapped him around for three runs off 11 hits over 71/3 innings of work; the Yankees won 4-3 to end Toronto's 11-game win streak. In his career against the Angels, Price has been so-so, with a 4-5 record in 11 starts.

The series will also feature a showdown between Toronto third baseman Josh Donaldson and L.A. outfielder Mike Trout, the consensus front-runners for the American League most-valuable-player award.

In their only other meeting this season, the Blue Jays and Angels split a four-game set at Rogers Centre back in May. Andrew Heaney, who will start for L.A. in Saturday's game, logged one of those victories in Toronto, going seven strong and allowing two runs off four hits in a 3-2 Angels' win.

With Hector Santiago getting the call to pitch Friday's opener of the series, the Angels will be sending two lefties to the mound for the first two games. Toronto has fared better against left-handers over the course of the year, hitting almost 30 points higher than they have managed against righties.
