The Blue Jays lost right-handed reliever Chad Beck on Thursday after he was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The 27-year-old was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Monday to make room on the 40-man roster for catcher Bobby Wilson, who was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.

In 14 relief appearances with the Blue Jays this past season, Beck had a 6.32 earned run average over 15.2 innings pitched with nine strikeouts and five walks.
