The news, so far, on the mysterious "cold hand" syndrome that has forced long reliever Carlos Villanueva to miss the last couple days of spring training for the Toronto Blue Jays is all good.
Blue Jays manager John Farrell said that Villanueva went threw a number of tests here on Saturday and the results were all good.
Farrell said on Sunday that the right-hander will be reexamined again on Monday at which time Villanueva is expected to return to camp.
The pitcher worked out with the team on Friday but afterwards complained that his right hand felt a bit cold, an issue that Farrell speculated could have been a circulatory issue.
The Blue Jays received another scare on Sunday when Henderson Alvarez, who is projected to be in the starting rotation this season, took a ball off his foot when playing catch.
Alvarez was carted off the field accompanied by the team trainer.
Afterward, Farrell said everything check out fine and that Alvarez is expected to return to camp on Monday.
